Overview

Mason Mayhem is an action-packed co-op bullet hell spanning across the skies of GMU. Accessible to all ages, take down iconic keystones of campus. Players will be tasked with going through key locations of the George Mason Campus, encountering environmental hazards and fight well-known icons of the campus.

Players will take control of either 1 of 3 different art style variants of the Mason Patriot mascot, or take up the mantel of the old mascot, “The Mason Maniac”. Players then will traverse through unique levels, taking them around the GMU campus with each level using a unique art style.

Project Design Goals

  • Create an action-packed 2D bullet-hell based on the George Mason Campus

  • Demonstrate a method to smartly incorporate different art styles into one game without being jarring

  • Incorporate proper multiplayer control using both joystick and keyboard control
